Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The following is a list of frequently asked questions.

  1. How do I log into the LinkIt Portal? Answer: Please go to portal.linkit.com
  2. How do students log into the LinkIt! Test Taker? Answer: Student should go to: www.linkit.com/testtaker
  3. How do I reset my password? Answer: Reset Password
  4. What are the best practices for printing, scanning, and grading bubble sheets?  Answer: Best Practices
  5. Can I change the standard and/or tags to a question after the test has been given? Answer: Yes. Standards and tags are reporting features that do not determine how bubble sheets are graded. As such, you can modify these question properties at any time during the test creation and administration process, and the Reporting module will be dynamically updated to reflect the latest information. Here is how to do it.

  6. Can I change the answer key and/or points possible after the test has been given? Answer: Please go to the Test Design, Tests, select the Test Bank and open the test. Highlight the question with the wrong answer key and/or points possible and click on the Question Properties button. Now in the window you can change the points possible or you can click on the yellow folder in the bottom right corner and the Assessment Item from the Item Set will be opened. Please select the correct answer and click on Save. To regrade any test results associated with tests in which the Assessment Item was used please follow the following instructions:  Here is how to do it.

  7. How can we run Linkit (e.g. portal application or online test taking) on mobile devices (iPad, Android, ...)? Answer: The online test-taker is currently Flash-based. It works on any mobile broswer that offers native Flash support (e.g. those found on some Android devices). There are also Flash-enabled browsers available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Storeh, e.g. Rover ($3.99/device), Photon (free), or Onlive Desktop ($5/month). Coming soon is an upgraded online test-taker that is built with HTML5 and would work on any mobile device without the need of third-party apps.
  8. What is the best naming convention for tests? - Answer: For better test management and sharing it is highly recommended that tests names include the grade, subject, version and test year. For example: G5 Language Arts From A 2013, G5 Language Arts Form B 2013, G5 Language Arts Form C 2013. This would allow for better more organized bubble sheet printing and distribution, and it will prevent mistakes when it comes to grading.
  9. Can I print and grade bubble sheets for test A with test B? Answer: No. Each bubble sheet has a Bubble Sheet ID encrypted in the bar code which is used to associate the test with the student in the class. Please create test B, print bubble sheets for test B and grade test B. PLEASE DO NOT GRADE BUBBLE SHEETS PRINTED FOR FORM A TEST THAT ARE INTENDED TO BE USED WITH FORM B TEST AS THE STUDENT TEST RESULTS WILL BE OVERWRITTEN.
